Room 2 Has A New Blog

Good afternoon,

I have just started a new blog for Room 2 for 2013 - room2ola2013.blogspot.com.

Though to be fair it'll be operated in a slightly different fashion from this 2012 blog.

Starting this year, OLA has a flash new school website, and as part of that, every class has it's own page - that'll be the go to page for any information, links, news or whatever for this year's classes. Room 2's page is here.

I'll be using the Room 2's 2013 blog as basically a place to store photos that'll be copied across to the Room 2 page. It'll help keep storage space on the new school site down to a minimum - and it'll mean I won't have to re-size photos for each post!!

So, for what it's worth, check it out!

This site will stay live for the foreseeable future, just as the 2010 and 2011 blogs have.

Bye for now,

Mr Grant

Christmas Is Cool!

You know, apart from the celebration of the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, without whom we are all lost...

Good afternoon,

I've just finished playing the first couple of games of my Christmas present, Star Wars X Wing Miniatures game...

I just have the boxed starter set (as above), and have on order, thanks to your very kind generosity, another boxed starter set (a cheaper way of getting more minis!), and...the Millennium Falcon!

The first couple of games were a bit quick, but that last one I played with Matthew was cool - lots of dog fighting, twisting and turning and such. I was lucky he split his TIEs so I could take them on one at a time with my X Wing. Even so, it was a pretty close run thing!

Thanks again, and Merry Christmas,

Mr Grant

Last Day Tuesday

Good evening,

And many thanks for the prezzies!

Number one on my list...

...when it's released. The core set of the game I bought myself for my wife to give me for Christmas.

I wonder if Comics will take pre-orders...

Thank you also for the fantastic spread that we shared for morning tea.

But first, grace.

Then tuck in!

After Mass we came back for a bit of a sing song...

:-)

...and farewells.

Thanks again for a brilliant year, have a great Christmas and God Bless,

Mr Grant

Oh, and this blog will stay live...fairly indefinitely really. Next years blog will be room2ola2013.blogspot.com, but I'll funnel it through the Room 2 page on our new Ultranet site.

Trekk'n Monday

Good afternoon,

Today was all about tonight.

We lined up...

...trekked down to Cashmere...

...waited and practised for tonight...

...and trekked back to school again.

Seeing as it was pretty warm this afternoon, and Room 2 doesn't have any air con, but Room 12 does, Miss Fitzsimmons invited us over to while away the afternoon.

And a good time was had by all.

Right, on to this evening.

The children have to be at the Cashmere High School Auditorium by 6.00. The event begins at 6:30. Finishes about 7:30, 7:45 ish.

Kapa Haka children, please arrive at the venue already dressed in your Kapa Haka uniforms.

CU there,

Mr Grant

Year 8 Farewell

Good afternoon,

A fun fine day was had today, courtesy of Principal J, our principal-for-the-day.

We started the day in mufti...

...before dropping off our presents to the hall for the gift giving ceremony.

Shortly after that, the Year 8s visited us for a bit of a sing-along.

Which was a bit of a gentler farewell that what was in store from them after assembly...

And a good time was had by all.

Enjoy the weekend, sounds like it's going to be a hot one.

Galoop the One Eyed Gardener!

Planting Jemma's sunflower!

:-)

R2 Gangnam Style

Good afternoon,

This afternoon, as the children finished off their nativity puppets, I put on some musac for them...

We also learnt the Irish Blessing to sing at the prize giving on Monday...

May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields.

Until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.
Until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

In the meantime I need to get ready for the mufti/dress-like-Christmas day tomorrow.

Bye for now,

Mr Grant
